Media Release- George to Host South African Nationals Championships 2026 & 2027
The City of George is preparing to welcome South Africa’s finest cyclists as it hosts the 2026 South African National Criterium Championships on 31 October and 1 November 2026 & 2027 South African National Road, Individual Time Trial & Para Cycling Championships on 3-7 February 2027.
Following the successful collaboration between George Municipality, Cycling South Africa, Eden Cycling, and Crank To Crown Events, the championship will bring together the country’s Elite, Junior, U/23, Sub Veteran, Veteran, Sub Master, Masters, Grand Masters and para-cycling athletes to compete for the coveted national champion jerseys.
The events will be hosted from The Cornerstone Lifestyle Centre in Blanco, which will serve as the official Race Village throughout the championships.
Beyond the racing, the championships are expected to generate significant economic benefits for George and the broader Garden Route. Hundreds of riders, officials, support staff and visiting spectators are expected to travel to the city, supporting local accommodation establishments, restaurants, coffee shops, retail businesses and tourism attractions

Official Event Organiser Dunette Neuhoff of Crank To Crown Events believes the championship represents far more than a weekend of racing.

The 2026 & 2027 National Championships also form part of a larger vision for George as a leading cycling destination.
