Seeding & Start Procedure
Seeding will depend on the number of entries received. Final entry numbers will only be available after 3 September, after which the start procedure will be confirmed.
Our standard approach is to keep the start procedure as simple as possible:
- Long Distance: Riders will generally start together. As this includes an Open Race with Top 5 overall positions, an Open Seeded Racing Bunch will be used if required. Should the Long Distance receive more than 200 entries, additional seeding will be introduced.
- Elite, Junior, Veteran and Ladies racing categories will start together as the Seeded Racing Bunch.
- Middle Distance: All riders start together.
- Short Distance: All riders start together.
Where additional seeding is required due to entry numbers, Janet and Dennis will seed riders according to results available on the Cycling South Africa (CSA) website.
The aim is to provide fair racing while keeping the starting and seeding process straightforward for all participants.
